Don't get us wrong, we love the glamour of Oscars night. The bedazzled Balmain, the statement speeches; it'd be rude not to stay up till ridiculous o'clock to watch. But we'd be lying if we said our highlight isn't always those AWKWARD af moments that leave us cowering behind a cushion.
You know, those inevitable occurrences that provide memes for days?
So, since we've already had a run-down of the winners and checked out the best red carpet looks, we thought we'd better relive this year's most cringeworthy moments.
Check out the most hilarious awkward moments from the 2018 Oscars below:
The funniest AWKWARD moments from the 2018 Oscars
THAT unreciprocated kiss
We'll never unsee the kiss-that-wasn't-quite-a-kiss as Blade Runner 2049 picked up Best Visual Effects. Blimey.
Ansel Elgort jumps for literally no reason
He did it, like, multiple times. Next to Andra Day and Emma Stone. You okay, hun?
Matthew McConaughey's 'I'M AN EIGHT' moment
Matthew got a fair bit of flak for his really-quite-questionable tan. One Twitter commented: "Why is Matthew McConaughey ORANGE tonight? Makes me think about Ross from Friends when he went to that tan place."
Tiffany Haddish jumps the red carpet rope to say hi to Meryl Streep
Variety reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister caught the moment on camera, tweeting: "I spotted @TiffanyHaddish jumping over a red carpet rope to fangirl over Meryl Streep. That is all." Classic.
Also, Tiffany's slippers
Presenting the award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) with Maya Rudolph, the pair swapped their stilettos for slippers. They are us, we are them.
Taraji P. Henson seemingly throws Ryan Seacrest shade
The Hidden Figures actress appeared to take a dig at Ryan, who was shunned by many stars on the red carpet due to allegations of sexual misconduct. Touching the E! presenter on the chin, she said: "The universe has a way of taking care of taking care of good people, you know what I mean?"
Jimmy Kimmel brings up envelope gate
Oh, it was always going to be the elephant in the room. Joking about that 2017 Moonlight moment, he said: "This year when you hear your name called, don't get up right away. Just give us a minute. We don't want another 'thing'. Last year, about a week before the show the producers asked me if I wanted to do some comedy with the accountants and I said 'No, I don't want to do comedy with the accountants.' So then the accountants went ahead and did comedy on their own."
Oh, and Jennifer Lawrence winding Emma Stone up about it
Brilliant.
Actually, EVERYTHING about Jennifer Lawrence
The wine, the chair-climbing; J-Law reached new levels of relatable.
She even tried to fly
Well, if it's good enough for Ansel...
Daniel Kaluuya shuts down a red carpet reporter
Daniel didn't take too kindly to one interviewer claiming Get Out received nominations because it 'raises important themes' and 'ticks a lot of boxes.' He clapped back: "We're not boxes though, articulating black experience isn't a box. We're articulating our truth, we're human beings."
