But today that wound has begun to heal, because we’ve found out that there’s a new dreamboat in town.

The Grey’s Anatomy star will reportedly feature in the latest Bridget Jones movie, but what role he will play is still a mystery.

Move over birthday boys Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

The new film is thought not to be completely based on the latest book, so who knows where this movie will take us. We suspect, judging by the title, there'll be a baby involved. Maybe Bridget will add to her and Mark's brood of two?

It’s also rumoured to be based on newspaper columns written by Bridget’s creator, Helen.

What we DO know is that Renée Zellweger will return as Bridget, and Colin Firth will be back as Mark. But if we have to watch Mark reach his bitter end, then we’ll be officially never get over it.

Sharon Maguire, who directed the original movie, will be back in action too, but they’ll be no sight of Hugh as slimball Daniel Cleaver.

The first movie in the franchise, Bridget Jones’ Diary hit cinemas in 2001, after the 1996 release of the novel.

Following it’s success, the second film Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason based on the 1999 book came to our screens in 2004.

Both films starred the original Hugh, Colin and Renée trio.
