Protein World has been at the centre of a lot of controversy this week after one of its “beach body ready” campaign was criticised for being damaging to body confidence.
Holly Hagan has now commented on the debate. Bear in mind that she’s paid by Protein World to be an “ambassador”, mind.
“I think the whole thing has been taken way too seriously. If people want to put their time to something worthwhile then they should be donating to the disaster in Nepal, women’s rights in Africa,” she told the *MailOnline*.
“This is a healthy woman [on the controversial poster] who is posing for a fitness brand, one who exports around the world and supports the economy.
“It's not saying that you have to look like the model on the poster, it's just an illustration of a healthy, fit and toned model who we can admire, not suggesting we all have to look like that. I think she looks fantastic.”
OK, Hol, we get that you’re totally pro-Protein World. But those views have to be a little biased.
The ad has now prompted an investigation by the Advertising Standards Authority. They’ll assess whether it’s socially irresponsible or has broken harm and offence rules.
Have you got a comment on THAT, Holly?
