When the UK woke up this morning, we were given the news that Donald Trump had won the US election and would be taking Barack Obama's place as President.
Despite a shed load of celebs coming forward to promise nakedness (looking at you, Katy Perry and Mark Ruffalo) and – erm – blowjobs, the billionaire businessman and reality TV star swung it, and will soon be settling his family and 3,985,240,029 bottles of fake tan into the White House.
Of course, millions of people took to Twitter to voice their opinions.
There was outrage:
There was confusion:
And there were even allergic reactions:
But, threaded through the conversations about whether he really WILL do all the awful things he promised to do, came the Brits.
Yes, we Brits who are known for our love of tea-drinking before work while tuning in to Good Morning Britain to see what Piers Morgan is saying now (not much of worth, TBH - look).
The breakfast show viewers took to social media to voice their own deep concerns over the elections in the US – there was outrage! There was confusion! There were (probably) allergic reactions!
But, not necessarily over the result.
Lorraine Kelly's die-hard fans were HORRIFIED that the whole shebang across the pond was stopping them from catching up with the Scottish presenter's morning segment, Lorraine.
FOR REALS.
Who CARES that the next President thinks it's OK to "grab [women] by the pussy"? Who CARES that he's promising to wall off Mexico? Is that really important if we don't have Lorraine's lovely face on our screens first thing in the AM?
One fan even suggested Lorraine was using it as an excuse for a day off.
Erm. Don't think so but OK.
Piers and GMB co-presenter, Susanna Reid, were live broadcasting one of the biggest political events in the history of the ENTIRE world at the time – but it was interfering with pleasant morning viewing.
Bloody hell, America. Couldn't you have done this on the weekend when the only thing we'd miss would be Sunday Brunch?
