There’s nothing like your ex announcing they’re having a baby to make you think about your own relationship – and it seems that Perrie Edwards is no different.
After the news that her ex-fiancé Zayn Malik is expecting with his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, she’s been telling friends she’s ready for a baby of her own with footballer boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
A source close to the Little Mixer tells heat, “Perrie is in a great place with Alex. There’s no doubt they’re happy, and she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. But at the same time, the news that Zayn is having a baby knocked her for six. She has mentioned a few times in the last week that she is feeling broody. Her friends can’t help but feel it’s a reaction to Zayn, as she always thought they’d start a family when they were together.”

And now, having been with Alex for almost four years, it’s clear Perrie is in it for the long term. “She’s in a great place right now – but her mates are just hoping that she does things in her own time frame, without feeling like there’s a clock ticking because her ex is moving forward in such a big way,” our source says. “Perrie and Alex are solid, so there’s no rush, but Perrie definitely sees children in their future.”
