Bizarre celebrity couple news now, and the one story we’ve all been gripped by this morning is that of the weirdest famous-people pairing EVER: Perrie Edwards and Joey Essex. WE KNOW.

According to the Mirror, the twosome met at the Pride Of Britain Awards last month and hit it off, even swapping numbers and going on a number of dates.

“It’s very early days, but Perrie likes Joey because he makes her laugh,” a source told the newspaper.

“They are just getting to know each other and taking things slowly, but Joey is already smitten.

“Perrie has just come out of a serious relationship and is enjoying having fun right now,” the insider added.

But is there any truth to the claims that they’re dating? Uh… that would be a no, then.

“Perrie is not dating Joey,” her spokesperson has confirmed, no doubt really pissed off that they would even have to deny this story.

What a shame. Because wouldn’t they have made such a great match? Joey’s inability to tie his own shoelaces or tell the time meets Perrie’s ambition to take over the world one Little Mix track at a time.
