Pete Wicks speaks out about Chloe Sims romance rumours

Earlier this week, Pete Wicks and Chloe Sims' new romance was revealed and we were looking forward to the chaos it would cause amongst the TOWIE lot...and of course, seeing the wrath of Pete's ex Megan McKenna once again.

But Pete the Pirate (or party pooper, if you ask us) has shot down claims that the pair's friendship is hotting up, claiming they're more like family than boyfriend and girlfriend.

Taking to Twitter after the rumours hit headlines, the TOWIE star wrote, "So seeing your mates at Christmas is now a crime?!

"Im dead...Just wanna point out that @Chloe_Sims is one of my best mates and like a sister to me.

"We are very close and I love her to bits. It’s a shame people don’t believe in geezers being friends with women!"

His BFF Chloe replied, making a dig at a mystery person when she said, "Aww love you too @P_Wicks01 I wonder who would make up such a story.... hmm #dropusout".

Meanwhile their co-stars also tweeted about the reports, with Georgia defending her mates and saying, "I'm so bored of yous having to justify being mates .its ridiculous !"

Vas Morgan then joked, "Glad you cleared that one up since Chloé is MY WIFE".

A spokesperson for Pete denied the claims, saying, "Pete and Chloe are like family and there is absolutely nothing going on with them romantically."

Chloe threw some major shade on Megan this week during an appearance at BUILD London when quizzed about her TOWIE departure.

The beauty queen said, “It’s been really good having Pete back. I enjoyed making him enjoy Xmas – we fed reindeers and we went full out and I think it worked. I think he likes it now!"

Speaking about the fall-out between her and Megan, she added, "At the time it was hard on Pete and hard on the whole cast – everyone got dragged in and it was a really negative time."

And about Megan's departure, she said, "I think she's gone for good."

She also posted a quote to Instagram this week that read, "Stop giving the same person different opportunities to disappoint you."

OUCH!

We are literally devo'd that the rumours aren't true, but we bet Megan's pleased!
