After winning I'm A Celeb, you'd think people would be doing nothing but congratulating Scarlett Moffatt, who has gone from the breakout star of Gogglebox to the queen of the Jungle. But Piers Morgan couldn't resist a dig on Good Morning Britain this morning.
Speaking about the crowning of a new champion, Piers said: "I don't know anything about her, this Scarlett Moffatt character.
"Someone I've never heard of with other people I've never heard of walking about TV has won I'm A Celebrity, therefore becoming a celebrity."
He then added he'd had to look her up on the internet, and when Suzanne Reid pointed out that Scarlett is famous for being on TV in her own right, he replied: "She's not a superstar though is she? I'm not sure what it says about the world when someone who is famous for watching TV wins a TV show."
So clearly he hasn't watched Gogglebox, or he'd know she's the goddamn queen of our TV screens. And we'd get totally starstruck if we saw her. Actually, no, we'd want to impress her so she became our best mate, but that's sort of the same thing - right?
Piers then went on to speak to runner-up Joel Dommett via video-link, calling him a "loser" after Joel said how happy he was to have come second.
"You're still a loser, unfortunately," said Piers. "We don't, on this show, salute people that lose. We say good effort, sorry you lost, but good luck cause your career's gonna go from strength to strength."
Thankfully, this didn't ruffle Joel in the slightest, who quickly replied: "It's okay. I prefer Jeremy Clarkson, too". Snap.
While Piers found the whole thing very funny, we're still angry at him for pouring cold water over Scarlett's victory. One day, just one day, we'd like him to play nice for once.
