After the tragic death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, police have launched an investigation to determine exactly what led up to the finding of her unconscious body in her bathtub back in January.

According to reports, the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found face-down in the water on 31 January by her partner Nick Gordon and friend Max Lomas.

She was resuscitated by paramedics but then fell into a coma, eventually passing away at a hospice just outside of Atlanta yesterday – nearly six months after the incident.

Now the Fulton County police department has announced it’s launching a probe to find out how she died.

In a statement, the police said her death has been reported to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, who looks into “known or suspected non-natural deaths”.

“Despite the long interval between her being found unresponsive and her death, an autopsy will still be necessary to further evaluate possible causes of death or contributing factors,” it went on.

“The Roswell Police Department continues its investigation into the circumstances preceding and surrounding the time of the original incident leading to her death.”

The examiner will also carry out lab testing, which “may take several weeks” for results to come back.

In the meantime, the Sun reports that police will view Nick Gordon as a “person of interest” after bruises were found on her body.

The 25 year old – who claims he and Bobbi were married – has been accused in a private lawsuit filed by Bobbi’s family of causing life-threatening injuries to her, although he denies all the allegations.
