So it’s been a pretty big day for Prince William – he and Kate Middleton have welcomed a new Royal Baby into their family.
Kensington Palace announced the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a little princess to the world at 8.34am today and William left the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London this afternoon.
ROYAL BABY ROUND-UP
The Duke of Cambridge went to pick up son Prince George from Kensington Palace nearby and, as he left, said he was “very happy" following the birth.
On his return he carried son George - who was meeting his sibling for the first time - in his arms and posed for a photo on the steps outside the hospital where the pair waved to onlookers.
A name for the newest member of the royal family is not yet known but the tot is fourth in line to the throne and weighed 8lbs 3oz.
Posts on the official Kensington Palace Twitter page this morning read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales & The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry & members of both families have been informed.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
