Rebecca Adlington has been taken to hospital after suffering a terrible fall while training for The Jump.

The Olympic swimmer was carried away on a stretcher after a ski jump she was performing went horribly wrong.

Channel 4 bosses are now worrying that she may not be able to continue with the show.

The 26 year old hurt herself while practicing a ski jump, which sees the celebrities reach speeds of more than 30mph as they hurtle down a 30 degree, 100m long slope.

She failed to get her legs in the correct position to land, which resulted in her losing her balance.

A source at filming in Austria told The Sun: “Rebecca’s fall was incredibly nasty. One minute she was flying through the air, the next she was crumpled on the crash mat, and clearly in a lot of pain.

“It was hard to tell at first what had happened, but it was clear she needed to go to hospital."

During last night’s opening episode, the mother-of-one described the pain she suffered as something that was “worse than childbirth”.

“What people didn’t see in the edited footage is that I was lying there with a dislocated shoulder for 40 minutes,” she explained.

“It was worse than childbirth and it’s still horrible now because people keep knocking my arm.”
