Ricardo Medina Jr, who played the red ranger in the American TV series Power Rangers, has been reportedly charged with killing his flatmate with a sword. Yes, if you were a huge fan of the show from a young age you will be in shock also.
According to the LA Times the 36-year-old called the police himself after the incident with his flat mate Joshua Sutter.
Following the tragedy, which occurred in Palmdale, California on Saturday afternoon, a Los Angeles police spokesman said: “The victim and the suspect became involved in an argument, which turned into a physical altercation.
“The suspect retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend, but the victim followed them and forced the door open.
The suspect stabbed the victim once in the abdomen with a sword kept next to the bedroom door.”
Medina allegedly stabbed his fellow 36-year-old flatmate, who was taken to hospital and pronounced dead soon after, in the abdomen with a sword.
Medina, who has since been charged with homicide and bail has been set at $1m (£663,000) made his debut as the Red Ranger in the 2002 version of the TV series, Power Rangers Wild Force.
His agent, Gar Lester, told ABC7: “He’s been my friend and client for 12 years and he’s a great guy.
“He’s great to his dog, he’s great to his people. He’s really a super person.”
If you’re are in fact an original 90’s kid you’ll know the original Power Rangers series aired in 1993 and became a huge hit for Fox.
