Renée Zellweger may have had a rocky road in romance, but she seems to have found her soulmate in British TV presenter Ant Anstead. However, while there are rumours of wedding bells, the actress’ friends are worried there could be some red flags as the two are at very different points in their careers, with Ant having a tough time financially.
An insider tells heat, ‘Renée is in deep with Ant, but there have been concerns from friends as she is very wealthy, and he’s been going through some financial hardships. With his car bodyworks company going bankrupt last year, and his TV production company dissolved, it's been a stressful time for Ant. He’s eager to put in the past, but Renée’s pals are worried she might end up having to bail him out.’
While often coy about her relationship, Renée, 55, recently referred to the TV presenter in an interview, explaining that she lives in Southern California ‘because that's where my fellow lives’. The A-lister met Ant, 45, back in 2021— about seven months after he separated from his second ex-wife, Christina Haack— and they’ve been quietly dating ever since. Ant and Christina share a five-year-old son, Hudson, and he also has two older children, Archie and Amelie, from his first marriage. Renée herself was briefly married to Kenny Chesney for four months back in 2005, and has had high-profile relationships with Jim Carrey and Bradley Cooper, but she’s been off the market ever since meeting Ant.
And while our insider says her friends are concerned about Ant’s financial woes, we’re told Renée isn’t worried in the slightest and believes she’s finally found The One.
‘Renée won’t hear a bad word said against Ant,’ we’re told. ‘He’s put a smile back on her face after years of heartbreak. There have been times when Renée wondered if she would ever find real love again, but now she’s head over heels in love and wants this to be her last stop romantically.’
It was rumoured back in July 2023 that Ant had popped the question, and our insider says Renée is excited to walk down the aisle again. They say, ‘She feels that their connection is so strong, it has made any concerns just fade away, and she really hopes that they end up marrying soon. She isn’t looking for perfection, she wants something real.’
