You know that fairly creepy article that was on the Mail Online yesterday about parents kissing their kid on the lips?
Well Richard Madeley’s had his say on the matter.
"I think if one side of the relationship is growing uncomfortable with it, either the parent or the child - then you should stop.
"But I think if it’s instinctive and it’s part of the family history and tradition, then why not?
Speaking on his old show, This Morning, erm, this morning, Richard admitted he still kisses both of his children on the lips.
So that’s nice…
“I kiss Chloe on the lips, and Jack, my son, who will be 30 in May, kisses me on the lips.
"To me, there are no rules on things like this, it’s what’s right for you and your family.
“We’re very touchy-feely as a family, so for us it’s normal.”
Judy’s phlegm
And as if that wasn’t spew-inducing enough, he also spoke about his wife Judy Finnigan’s way of dealing with colds.
Apologising for his ladywife not being available to join him on the TM sofa, Rich said: "If she was here, she’d send her apologies – we’ve both had this cold – and the difference between a lot of men and women is with men, when we get all the catarrh we hoik it up, but women swallow it... so Judy swallows her phlegm!
Brilliant…
"She was here and fully made up and everything but she just suddenly started to throw up so I’m afraid she’s about halfway home in the car. But she’ll be alright.”
Yeah, she’ll be alright, but what about the rest of us? We’ve been traumatised by Richard Madeley once again.
