But we never – repeat, NEVER – imagined Ed teaming up with comedian Ricky Gervais to record a duet.
Or better still, a duet with Ricky in the form of his hilarious The Office character, David Brent.

That was until Gervais reached out to Sheeran to share his ground-breaking idea.
The funny man tweeted: “I think @edsheeran should do a Ed Sheeranesque acoustic version of Free Love Freeways. Worldwide number 1 guaranteed.”
To which Eddy said: “@rickgervais if you do it with me lets do it for Red Nose Day or comic relief. Or just pocket the cash and buy those mini segways.”
OMG THIS IS A GENIUS IDEA. We love Ricky, we love Ed, and we LOVE AND MISS David Brent and The Office crew.
And to do it all for charity is the icing on the cake in this sweet scenario.
