It’s that time of year again when all the X Factor judging panel rumours start and now that Nick Grimshaw has confirmed his exit, Rita Ora’s role is the next to be called into question.

Luckily for the singer, Simon Cowell is said to be desperate to secure her for another year and is “pulling out all the stops” to ensure she stays.

A source told The Daily Star: “Rita is his No1 target. He sees her as being the one person that could save the series and make it great again.”

The music mogul, 56, is expected to stay on the panel though the fate of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is still unknown.

With two possible spots open, who could be up for the job next? Well the Daily Star’s source revealed: “It’s looking like Louis Tomlinson is also a done deal.”

The One Direction singer was a hit when he joined Simon for his judges houses slot last year and apparently informally agreed to the job shortly after.

There are also rumours that Louis Walsh, 63, could be coming back again but, come on, is that really necessary?!

A spokesperson for the show has stated: “Details for the new series of The X Factor are still being discussed and will be announced in due course.”
