The couple split earlier this year after a year of dating and although the RIP singer has been linked to Ricky Hil, she’s made it pretty clear she’s not over the Scottish DJ.
“Without complaining, without being moany, because this is what I have wanted to do all my life, I think it's that people may forget I'm just a 23-year-old girl who wants to be in love,” Rita told* Teen Vogue*.
“And even though I live and breathe my job, I still want someone to want me. That's how every girl feels.
“It's like, Will I ever love someone as much as I loved that person?”
Following their split, things got a little messy between Rita and Calvin after he refused to let her play I Will Never Let You Down, the song they made together, at the Teen Choice Awards.
At the time Rita said “For anybody who doesn’t understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song. So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards.’
“I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward… It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there’s some stuff that comes with it… Everything happens for a reason, that’s how I look at it.”
But Calvin later hit back, tweeting: “You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life.”
Sadly for Rita, it seems she won’t be getting a second chance at love with Cal either, as earlier this month he went public with his new squeeze, Aarika Wolf.
On Wednesday, the couple were pictured together picking pumpkins before Halloween.
