Rob Kardashian has had a long and VERY public battle with his weight – he even missed sister Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West in May 2014 because he was so self-conscious about his body – but now it seems he's had a new lease of life… in the form of a gastric band.

That's the opinion of Dr Sultan Hassan of Elite Surgical, who tells heat in this week's mag that Rob's "dramatic" weight loss has likely been helped along by gastric surgery.

The 29-year-old reality star, who is currently dating Blac Chyna, has been on a health kick since early January, and his recent social media pics show him looking decidedly slimmer.

"The pictures of Rob show clear evidence of fast and significant 'global' weight loss," says celebrity surgeon Dr Hassan.

"That means he's lost weight all over the body, face, neck and so on, making liposuction – which is targeted – unlikely. He is overall much smaller. It is very hard to achieve such significant weight loss naturally in such a short space of time without the help of surgery."

Having a gastric band put in place, continues Dr Hassan, means Rob would only be able to eat 1,000 calories a day – less than half the recommended daily allowance for a man – putting his weight loss at around a stone a month.

Along with his self-confidence issues, the weight loss should also go some way to help Rob's recent type two diabetes diagnoses, which put him in hospital back in December 2015.
