The singer was actually not around that much when the song was penned, back in 2013, because he was taking the drug, Vicodin, and drinking alcohol.

“I had a drug and alcohol problem for the year and I didn't do a sober interview. So I don't recall many things that I said, Robin explained in a deposition.

“The biggest hit of my career was written and produced by somebody else, and I was jealous and I wanted some of the credit.”

Pharrell says that he’d actually composed the melody and written all of the lyrics and claims that Robin had “embellished” the facts when it came down to who actually created the song.

The depositions were filed in court on Monday and are related to a lawsuit, filed by representatives of Marvin Gaye against the singers.

It's claimed the pair stole from his song, Got To Give It Up.

Although both deny any copyright infringements, Robin states he over-egged his involvement in the creation.

So essentially, he’s passing the buck to Pharell. Not very friendly, eh?
