Russell Brand has reportedly revealed he has become a father, as his fiancée Laura Gallacher has given birth to their first child.

N'aawwww.

The announcement was apparently made during the comedian's gig at the Nottingham Playhouse on Sunday.

"He didn’t say whether it was a girl or a boy," a source told The Mirror.

Russell apparently rushed off the stage, as he was very conscious of the time. Members of the audience have said he was watching the clock and was heard saying "[he] needed to get down the M21 as my girlfriend has just had a baby."

As far as excuses for clocking out early go, that's a pretty good one TBF.

Russell has previously spoken about his excitement at the prospect of becoming a father.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "I feel lit up by the idea. I'm very excited about becoming a dad and I'm preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want."

Russell, who was previously married to Katy Perry, has been dating Laura on-and-off over the years, but the couple confirmed their relationship was well and truly on when Russell proposed in the summer.

Speaking on The Jonathon Ross Show, Russell explained the calming effect the relationship and imminent birth of his first child has had.

Explaining his new sense of zen, he revealed: "Well some of that is because I'm in a monogamous relationship now so I'm a lot calmer."

Russell also revealed that he has accepted he will no longer be the centre of attention with the new baby around.

"I've accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me."

He even joked that he was thinking of calling the baby "Jesus Three".

There has not been any news of the sex of the baby yet, however fans on Twitter have hinted at a baby girl.

One person wrote: "@ rustyrockets I hear you have a baby girl. Many congratulations to you and Laura!! x"

Congrats, Russ and GOOD LUCK!
