Russell Brand, mate, what's going on? You used to be funny and witty and, yeah, OK, a bit gross… but now?

Now there's a documentary that takes the lid off the lives of Russell and his one-time wife Katy Perry, and it's all a bit uncomfortable.

The documentary, called Brand: A Second Coming, is out this week, and the trailer for it shows the married couple having an argument on camera.

Russell also talks about their 14-month marriage in derogatory terms, saying: "I'm living this life, the very thing that I detest: vapid, vacuous, plastic, constructed, mindless celebrity. That's the very sea we're swimming in ... 'Oh, who's he? He's married to Katy Perry.'"

He also tells friends on several occasions that he's unsure about their relationship, saying to one: "This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I'm going to have to walk away."

The documentary delves deep into Russell's background, covering his years of drug use and his rise to fame.

It even interviews his mum Barbara, who tells of one time Russell comes into her bedroom to say that he's the second Jesus.

Brand: A Second Coming also features cameos from the likes of Simon Amstell, Noel Gallagher, Stephen Merchant and David Lynch. It's playing at selected cinemas in the UK this week.
