Ryan Reynolds has opened up about the touching reason he and wife Blake Lively decided to name their first daughter James.
Speaking to Mr Porter, Ryan revealed they named their first-born after his father James Reynolds - with whom he had a 'difficult relationship'.
Ryan's father passed away shortly after their daughter was born, but was able to meet his grandchild before he died.
Speaking about how Blake helped Ryan mend his relationship with his dad, the actor explained: "All family relationships come with some complications. For better or worse, all roads lead to her."
He added: "At the end of the day, it’s easier to focus on the good stuff than the bad. My father died soon after my daughter was born, but he got to see her, which makes me happy."
