I knew you were trouble when you walked in… and sat down at our table and ordered the most expensive meal on the menu, FFS. That’s (probably) what Taylor Swift said when fan Ricky Selby, 14, crashed her and Calvin Harris’ romantic dinner date earlier this month.
“I was having dinner with my family and Taylor and Calvin were right next to us,” Ricky tells heat of his evening at Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi – a celeb favourite – in Santa Monica, California.
“My dad knew who they were and just went over and started talking to them. He then said, ‘Come over here, Ricky.’ I was embarrassed, but Taylor thought it was funny and was like, ‘Yeah, come here,’ and so I did.” Too right he did.
Ricky then asked the couple, who’ve been dating for ten months, for a picture. He says, “Taylor told me to pick up a menu and act like we were ordering. She thought it was hilarious and called me her ‘son’, so I just went along with it. Taylor seemed way more into it than Calvin, and she was way chattier than he was. She joked that I should stay and join them for dinner and Calvin looked genuinely scared.”
