Sam Faiers hits back at This Morning viewers who expressed shock at Paul Knightley’s age

Sam Faiers has jumped to the defence of her boyfriend Paul Knightley after he was mocked on Twitter by fans who couldn’t believe he’s only 30 years old.

The couple appeared on This Morning yesterday, during which Sam discussed her plans for Paul’s 30th birthday, which is today.

But many viewers took to Twitter to express their shock at how young Paul is, something that Sam has now hit back at on Instagram.

She wrote: "Omg this actually made me laugh @paulknightley7 people literally don't leave off... we love you that's all that matters 30 tomorrow.”

Earlier today, Sam marked his birthday by sharing a cute message accompanied by six pictures of them together on Instagram.

She wrote: "We fell in love at first sight, 5 months later we was on the path to starting our own family, I love you with all my heart. Happy 30th Birthday To the most kind, loving, caring man in the world. Excited for celebrations with you & our family @paulknightley7 (these pics are pre babies ‍♀️)."

During the couple’s interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Paul addressed the controversy surrounding that kiss on the lips with his mum Gaynor.

He said: "I don't find anything wrong with it. I'm really close with my mum. It's just something I've always done and will always continue to do.

"I even kiss my son and my daughter on the lips, it's just something we do. I didn't find it strange."
