Sam Smith droned on about being unlucky in love on his album In The Lonely Hour and it looks like he might have found the inspiration for his next record as he’s split from his boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel.
The pair only recently happily posed together for pictures whilst in Australia over New Year but Sam announced they’d split after just two months together during his concert in Toronto on Tuesday night.
Before singing Good Thing, which is about a previous break-up, he said: “This song is very special for me today, as I’ve actually had to do a very similar thing with someone I’ve been seeing.” Sob.
Sam started dating Jonathan after they met on the set of the singer’s video for his track Like I Can.
The star first spoke about the relationship in December, saying that it was a very new romance.
He told The Sun: “It’s very early days. I’m talking very, very, very early days. But he’s really sweet. I met him on the video for Like I Can, he was one of 20 extras.”
