He said that the stabbing took place accidentally when there was an altercation.
Witnesses said that Dustin’s girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, had pushed a woman, which sparked the fight. She was convicted of disorderly conduct last month and faces up to 90 days in prison.
Dustin was accused of “scripting” his testimony during the trial and lying about the events.
The jury saw footage that showed Dustin first claiming that he might have hit the victim with a pen. A later video showed him admitting that he was carrying a knife, but saying it hadn’t been used in the stabbing.
The man who was stabbed in the altercation was not injured seriously.
