Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson and her fiancé Romain Dauriac have welcomed their baby daughter into the world.

Scar-Jo and, er, Ro-Daur? Ro-irac? R-Dawg? er, her partner have picked out a weirdly normal name for their first child: Rose Dorothy. Aww.

It is thought her middle name pays tribute to Scarlett's godmother, who she called "the first Francophone in my family".

A representative for the couple, who have been together since 2012, said both 29-year-old Scarlett and her new addition were doing well following the birth, but the new parents are seeking privacy and don't wish to bring up Rose under the spotlight.

The pair never officially announced Scarlett's pregnancy, but the Lost In Translation star hinted at her upcoming role as a mum back in December when she told an interviewer: "I would like to have my own family, that would be nice.

"They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else. At some point it is something I look forward to."

In March, the couple dropped more hints that they were expecting, having got engaged six months previously.

However, they are thought not to be rushing down the aisle as Scarlett has said "being engaged is an exciting time to enjoy and to really savour".
