Scarlett Moffatt has hit out at critics after she was slammed for her choice of birthday presents for her younger sister.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner, 26, shared a picture of her 11-year-old sibling alongside an array of merchandise related to the popular television show RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In the snap, Ava-Grace can be seen smiling as she rests her hand on the shoulder of a cardboard cutout of RuPaul himself.

On the table in front of her there is a variety of items including balloons, a mug, and a mask of former Drag Race contestant Bianca Del Rio alongside a t-shirt which features her famous catchphrase “not today satan”.

Former Gogglebox star Scarlett posted the photograph online, along with the caption: “When you surprise your little sister on her 11th birthday with everything drag queen.”

While the Instagram did get plenty of positive comments and many likes, some people were not impressed with Saturday Night Takeaway presenter Scarlett’s choice of presents.

One person remarked: “I’m not sure this is a good choice for an 11 year old.”

Someone else simply commented: “Weird.”

Another of her followers expanded: “The issue we’re talking about here is a CHILD and drag queens are ADULT entertainers. You don’t see children at these entertainers’ shows, you don’t see these drag artists going round schools doing shows. It’s inappropriate for children.”

However, Scarlett wasn’t going to let any negative comments get to get and she was quick to reply, pointing out that pantomime dames who traditionally perform across the country over the Christmas period are men dressed as women.

She hit back: “Have you ever been to a pantomime? I’m sorry but I really don’t understand why you have such a problem.

“Also I am taking her to New York to a RuPaul drag convention where there is a CHILD AREA - if it wasn’t meant for children why would there be an area specified for them.

“Let’s just all stay positive and embrace the fact everyone’s different and unique.”
