2016 is shaping up to be Selena Gomez’s year, as the singer has cleared up in the nominations for the Nickelodeon 2016 Kids Choice Awards. Selena’s leading the noms (beating Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift) and is in with a chance to win in four categories, including Favourite Voice (Animated Movies) and Favourite Female singer.

Selena will come up against her ex, and BFF Tay, in the collaboration category but we’re sure they’ll all smile and clap whatever the result. We’re torn between Selena and Taylor.

But we’re also closet Beliebers here in heat towers, so maybe we’re secretly rooting for him too.

Speaking about his nods, Justin said: “I'm so excited and honoured to be nominated for another three Kids Choice Awards. I have the best fans in the world; thank you all so much. And thanks to Nickelodeon for all the love and support over the years.”

Justin and Taylor have three nominations each, while Adele, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran and Nick Jonas are also expected to pick up awards.

Rebel Wilson faces competition from Daisy Ridley, Jennifer Lawrence, Lily James and Anna Kendrick in the Favourite Movie Actress category, while Daisy’s Star Wars John Boyega is up against the three Chris’ (Evans, Hemsworth and Pratt), Robert Downey Jr and Will Ferrell for Favourite Movie Actor.

Last year, 500 million votes were cast and we think that could be matched this year. The ceremony takes place on 12 March in California – with Voice US coach Blake Shelton hosting the swanky do.
