Here’s some more former X Factor winners doing stuff that’s not getting number ones news: Shayne Ward is going on Coronation Street. Well done, lad.
Earlier today we brought you the news that Matt Cardle’s doing a musical. Soz, Simon Cowell (though we’re not sure he’ll be bothered).
Shayne is going to play Aidan Connor, a cousin of Michelle Connor, who also grew up with Carla.

He said: "On hearing the news I had been offered the part on the show I was in total disbelief. It still hasn't sunk it.
“Shayne Ward the lad from Manchester, given such a role on such an iconic show - it is an absolute dream come true. I'm excited to walk down those famous cobbles.
“My family and friends know just how much this means to me and I cannot wait to do them all proud. 2015 has been a great year for me so far and I look forward to joining the Coronation Street family."
A press release from Corrie states that Shayne’s character Aidan “will set female hearts fluttering”. Sounds about right.
Well done, Shayne. Now all we need is Steve Brookstein to get a job at Comet and Simon Cowell will be FINISHED.
