Last night beloved actress Sheridan Smith won Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards, and gave a touching tribute to the late Cilla Black in her acceptance speech.
Sheridan played the national treasure in 2014’s ITV biopic Cilla, giving a beautiful performance.
When collecting her award, she told how it was “tinged with sadness”, and said:
"It's an absolute honour and privilege to play such an amazing lady. Thank you, Cilla."
The 34 year old had previously been awarded the Best Drama Performance at the National TV Awards for the show.
Cilla told the story of the entertainer's rise to fame, covering her life and career in Liverpool throughout the 1960s.
Aged 72,Cilla sadly passed away in her Spanish home in early August, after suffering stroke.
Other winners of the night include David Tennant, and Ant & Dec.
