In the last year or so Shia LaBeouf has displayed some pretty colourful behaviour – he turned up to the premiere of his movie Nymphomaniac in February wearing a brown paper bag on his head with the words “I am not famous anymore” scrawled across it and in June this year he was arrested after interrupting a performance of Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming’s Broadway show Cabaret.
But it seems a short jail spell is what sorted him out because, well, it would, wouldn’t it?
And, after seeking help for alcoholism, the star has opened up about his troubles during an interview with US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, admitting his time in the slammer was pretty scary stuff.
He said: “I went through this existential crisis which turned into like, explorations. I had some hiccups, some judgement errors...
"Jail was quite scary. I was there for, it felt like forever, I think 24 hours, 25 hours... I really went all the way with it, they put a Hannibal mask on me and a lead jacket. It was very scary.”
Woah! A Hannibal mask and a lead jacket? That is pretty frightening.
So, word to the wise. STEER CLEAR OF JAIL, PEOPLE!
