Shia LaBeouf was reportedly arrested on Friday night (October 9th).
Reports say that he was taken in under the offence of public intoxication, and the incident happened in Texas, USA.
The childhood actor, who starred in the comedy series Even Stevens and the movie adaptation of novel* Holes*, was thought to be in the area attending the Austin City Limits music festival. Although the arrest happened further downtown in the city’s bar area.
Witness Kelsie Nugent (@kelsie_rae), who works in a nearby bar, posted an image of the incident online.
According the TMZ, Shia displayed unusual behaviour on 6th Street, and attempted to cross the road unlawfully without regards of traffic, all of which was witnessed by nearby police officers.
A member of the Austin Police Department, Lieutenant Ryan Moon, told The Hollywood Reporter that he was arrested shortly after 7.30pm, but was later released.
This is not the first time the 29-year-old has had a run in with the law.
Last year, Shia was arrested in New York for causing a disturbance while attending a showing of the Cabaret musical at the Studio 54 theatre, later attending an outpatients alcohol treatment centre for six months as part of a plea deal.
Such incidents as well as other bizarre behaviour (like sporting a paper bag over his head for a red carpet event last year), left the troubled actor to claimed he had suffered an "existential crisis" when talking about his behaviour to Ellen Degeneres on her talk show.
