Simon Cowell bought Olly Murs a curry to convince him to do X Factor

We'd fall for that

Simon Cowell is quite the crafty fox but this is sophisticated even by his means (his weapons of persuasion include super yachts, massive gold-plated cheques and even Eric Cowell at times).

Guys: Simon bought Olly Murs a curry to get him to do X Factor. CHEEKY.

Olly told the Mirror:

“He asked if I wanted a curry and I said I love curry. So I go round to his house and he has all these amazing curries that have been home-made in his kitchens.

“There was a spicy chicken curry and a milder one, and all these dishes of chutneys and poppadoms and naan bread, a proper feast. And then at his end of the table there was this huge bowl of shepherd’s pie.

“I decided I didn’t want curry in the end, so I’m having shepherd’s pie. But I know you wanted curry’. So all these dishes were just for me and he had this minced beef! I had to work my way through all these different curries.”

We’re guessing that Simon didn’t make the curries himself (and also: he has multiple kitchens. Like Ed Miliband). We reckon he has a curry-slave he calls on in times of need, but still. A curry’s a curry.

The rest is history, as Olly is our brand new crotch-thrusting X Factor presenter. That’s the power of the naan bread.

Quite the ploy, even by your standards Simon. We would definitely do whatever you tell us to do if you buy us a garlic naan and a chicken jalfrezi.
