Earlier this month, music mogul and talent show extraordinaire Simon Cowell stepped out in America showing off the amazing results of his recent weight loss, leaving fans in shock at his slimmed-down appearance.

After losing an impressive 20lbs by taking on a vegan diet, many accused the Britain's Got Talent judge of getting a gastric band fitted, something he has now furiously denied.

Speaking about his weight loss to Best Magazine, 59-year-old Simon said, “People have said, ‘Oh, he’s had a gastric band fitted’ - but I haven’t. If I had, I would admit to it. This diet is all about what you put into your body. It’s not the Atkins diet or anything else.”

Simon, who turns 60 in October this year, went on to reveal the reason for his drastic diet change. Admitting his doctor told him his diet was 'appalling', Simon was instructed to cut out all 'fatty foods'.

He told the publication, “Within a few weeks, I could see the difference. Cutting out sugar made a massive difference. The first few weeks were difficult, but then I stopped craving sugar. I have also found a brilliant gluten-free beer, which helps.”

Simon reportedly made the decision to turn vegan after he was diagnosed with a number of food allergies, following his shock collapse last year.

Meanwhile, fans are gearing up for the return of Britain's Got Talent this weekend, with the brand new BGT: The Champions set to hit our screens on Saturday 31st August. With Ant and Dec hosting the show, Simon will return to the BGT panel alongside pregnant Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, and Amanda Holden.
