Simon Cowell throws MAJOR shade at Liam Payne in speech about loyalty

Remember the good ol' days when there were five members of One Direction? Well that sure has changed.

OK, so in case you were unaware Liam Payne, has totally followed the footsteps of ex-boyband member Zayn Malik and got himself a solo deal. But we reckon his old boss Simon Cowell isn't too happy about it.

Liam announced on Instagram last week that he has signed to a new record label, uploading a photo with the caption: "Very happy to have signed to my new record label Capitol Records. They have such an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps.

"One Direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings."

And we're not going to lie: our hearts did break a little, but Liam's sister reassured us that Liam will return to the 1D fold.

Yaaaaaaaaaas.

Even after realising that Capitol Records is a complete different label to Simon's record label Syco - that One Direction is signed to – we thought all was well in paradise.

Until last night's America's Got Talent conference when Simon didn't even mention Liam. When the 56-year-old mogul was asked about Liam's solo material he avoided the question and said: "We're in touch with them all. The great thing about these boys – well not all of them but most of them – [is] they are incredibly loyal and you don't always expect that.

"Niall, Harry, Louis – amazing."

Err, what about Liam, Si?

We're guessing he still calls Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson loyal because they are still signed to his record label and Louis appeared on The X Factor and America's Got Talent.

We know that Zayn left the band halfway through their tour but Liam stayed. In fact minus Liam and Cheryl dating and shocking the whole world, Liam has been pretty low key of late.

Other than Capitol Records having a great history or artists we're guessing Liam may have wanted a little freedom?

Zayn previously revealed that hewasn't allowed to keep his facial hair while he was in the band. In an interview with *Complex *magazine he said: "There were certain restrictions in terms of the way that we could come outside of that young teen boy look.

"Mainly my beard, to be honest. I wasn't allowed to keep it. Eventually, when I got older, I rebelled against it and decided to keep it anyway."

Hmm, interesting.
