Simon Cowell has a REALLY sweet message for Mel B amid her divorce battle

Former Spice Girl Mel B filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Stephen Belafonte, earlier this month.

Since the news broke, Mel’s celebrity friends have come forward to offer her their support, including Sharon Osborne who she worked with on The X Factor in 2014.

Now Simon Cowell, who Mel B has closely worked with for a number of years on various shows such as The X Factor and America’s Got Talent, has also decided to relay a sweet message to her so that she knows he’s behind her.

Talking to The Sun, Simon said: "If you think about what Mel’s done since leaving the Spice Girls and what she’s gone through, how hard she works and how I saw her try to handle this situation, it was astonishing.

"Yes, she’s under pressure but I think she’s in a good place.

"I think she is a really, really special person, and I really respect the way she's dealt with everything."

Mel B began legal proceedings for a divorce from Stephen Belafonte and accuses him of abusive behaviour, which he denies.

Sharon had spoken about the situation on her chat show, The Talk, where she said: "It was everywhere and especially three years ago the final two days of The X Factor.

"She didn’t make the first day because she was in hospital and it was reported in all the papers that said allegedly she’d been beaten by her husband so they said it."

Stephen has denied all the allegations multiple times, saying that "someone's set me up to look like a bad guy." His lawyers have described the accusations as "outrageous and unfounded".
