Uh-ohs – Simon Cowell is reportedly NOT PLEASED after it’s come out that the dog used for a tightrope trick in the Britain’s Got Talent finale was actually a stunt double, and not Matisse, the dog we thought it was.
A BGT insider told The Sun: “Simon is shocked and angry. He had no idea.
“He wants to know who is responsible. Heads could roll.”
Hopefully not Matisse’s head, or the stunt double doggy’s head, though.
In the act, Matisse is seen walking on a tightrope, but it’s now been clarified that a stunt-dog called Chase actually did this part of the act on the night.
Oh, come on guys – did you think that hypnotising dog was real, too, then? It’s showbiz, guys. And yes, some of it’s not real. Or just, you know, exaggerated a little bit. It's for FUN.
“I’m creating a story. It’s the magic of the whole act. It’s not that we were trying to mislead people, we were trying to entertain,” Matisse’s owner Jules O’Dwyer said.
“Matisse can do all those things. I chose not to do that on the night because I chose to split the act up so as not to over-work my dogs, so every dog can take a role.”
Makes sense to us.
A BGT spokesperson commented: “During the competition viewers have seen Jules’ act involves a team of dogs, including Chase and Skippy, alongside starring dog Matisse, to perform her unique mixture of dog agility and storytelling.
“We are sorry if this was not made clearer to the judges and viewers at home during their final performance.”
