Christmas is very nearly here.
HURRAH.
And as well as stuffing our faces with roast potatoes, tins of chocolate and Baileys (not all at once though – that would be gross), it also means there’s some top notch entertainment on the telly.
But before we get there we’ll be waving goodbye to the reality TV competitions that we love so dearly.
We’ve already crowned Scarlett Moffatt as Queen of the Jungle in I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, and proved that she was the rightful winner (despite those fix claims) because we have the COMPLETE list of public votes from the series.
And The X Factor is next to finish with the final being aired this weekend, followed by Strictly Come Dancing the weekend after.
So you’d think that as the two shows aren’t competing for figures all would be well between the two, right?
Well …
Something’s got Simon Cowell’s knickers in a twist.
In a recent interview with The Sun, the music mogul slammed Will Young, who controversially quit the dancing show this year due to ‘personal reasons’.
If you’ll remember rightly, Will shot to fame on Simon’s show, Pop Idol, which was pretty much the stripped back – ahem, cheap – version of The X Factor back in the noughties.
We all fell in love with him and Prince of our teenage hearts, Gareth Gates.
Talking to the paper about the Strictly contestants, Simon said: "I have respect for Ed (Balls) because anyone who can poke fun at themselves means they are a fun person.
"He didn’t take himself too seriously, unlike Will."
OUCHIE.
The pair have famously had bad blood ever since Simon told Will he was "distinctly average" on Pop Idol.
Watch it in all its awkwardness here:
And Will made no qualms about hiding his feelings for Simon while he was on Strictly this year, telling host Claudia Winkleman: "I feel like I’m back on Pop Idol.
"I had a big flashback but there’s no Simon Cowell so that’s nice."
Oh, BOYS.
In the words of Outkast, let bygones be bygones, you can go on and get the hell on.
