Simon Cowell wants son Eric to star in One Direction video

Simon Cowell has had plenty of practice at spotting talent - he only bleedin' put One Direction together, for goodness sake!

So, having hung out with his baby son Eric since, well, since his birth in February this year, the music mogul has had plenty of time to spot the star potential in his offspring.

And what better way to showcase the tiny tot's musical abilities by letting him star in one of 1D's videos?

A source told The Sun: "Simon was saying how much Eric loves playing on his little drum set and how he is already into music.

"He said he’d like to see his son in a One Direction video and thinks it’d be hilarious.

“With Simon it’s always hard to tell whether he’s being fully serious. But you also never know what he has up his sleeve.

“And he is certainly accustomed to getting his own way.

"So don’t be surprised if the boys are not the youngest stars of their next video for a change.”

Nothing like getting an early start!
