Tom Hardy has it all sorted now – he’s living a clean life and looks like he works out, um, lots (yes, we’ve been perving, how can we not?) – but things weren’t always so.
He’s been clean and sober since 2003, but opened up to Essentials magazine about the crack and alcohol addictions he battled when he was younger.
He also revealed that he was given a stark warning about his mortality – which has stayed with him ever since.

Taylor Swift comforts grieving fan with beautiful message on Mother's Day
"I was a shameful suburban statistic. I was told very clearly, 'you go down that road, Tom, you won't come back. That's it. All you need to know'.
“And that message stayed with me clearly for the rest of my days. I am f**king lucky to be here, to be honest."
He even admitted that at one point he would have “sold my mother for a rock of crack”.
Tom’s currently starring in Mad Max: Fury Road, but he hasn’t always been such a tough old boot.
"People didn't sit up and take any notice of me until I started putting on weight, kicking people and being aggressive,” he told the magazine.

Yeah, but you’re OUR petite little bourgeois boy Tom, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
