Sophie Kasaei has spoken out after her cousin Marnie Simpson came out as bisexual.
Former Geordie Shore star Sophie said Marnie, who still appears on the MTV reality show, has “always been into girls”.
And while Marnie had not revealed anything about her sexuality to her family member before, Sophie, who is rumoured to in the running for the next series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, insists it wasn’t a shock.
Sophie told MTV: “She didn’t really say anything to us, but I knew she was always into girls, and it’s a hard thing to come out.
“No matter what, she’s my cousin and I’ll always love her. If she’s bisexual, it doesn’t really bother me.”
But Sophie thinks there’s a reason why Marnie has decided to open up about her sexuality now - she thinks she’s been put off men after spending too much time with the Geordie Shore boys.
She joked: “Living in that house for that long, you would wanna start getting with girls. The boys are minging!”
Marnie recently opened up about her bisexual feelings, saying she thinks she’s kissed as many girls as she has boys.
She tweeted during a trip to Australia: “I’m sure I’m bisexual. Not even kidding. I kiss just as many girls as boys these days.”
But the reality star is pleased she opened up to fans about the situation, telling heat: “I feel it’s empowering to say it myself. I think it could help other girls as well.
“Me being honest about my sexuality might make others want to be as well.”
