Spencer Matthews and Jamie Laing ‘accept £3,000 for charity appearance but stay for just one hour’

Spencer Matthews and Jamie Laing were allegedly paid £3,000 for an appearance at a charity event but only stayed for an hour.

The Made In Chelsea stars were booked for a black-tie event in Exeter by charity founder Niki Cunningham whose son died at just one day old after suffering vasa praevia, a condition which causes blood cells to grow abnormally.

She hoped they would help promote the cause and expected them to stay for a three-course dinner and had booked hotel rooms for them to stay overnight.

But the reality stars apparently claimed they had to rush back to London after just one hour as they had filming commitments the following day.

Niki told The Sun: “We feel disgusted they took our money like that.

“They didn’t care at all what they were there for. They just took the cash and b******d off.”

After leaving the bash Spencer and Jamie were allegedly spotted at nearby bar Cosy Club before they posted a picture of themselves in a first class train carriage on the way back to London.

Other stars including Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh, Hollyoaks actor Ashley Taylor Dawson and former X Factor contestant Luke Friend stayed for the entire evening.
