It's been a week since the Spice Girls caused a social media shitstorm as they reunited at Geri Horner's house and posted that group pic. Since then, we've had reports of a full-on world tour and heard Victoria Beckham's reasons for finally agreeing to the comeback. And today's update? Er, the girls apparently 'won't be paid equally' as they reportedly sign a £50 million deal.
While the band have always promoted what Geri once described as 'equalization between the sexes,' it seems they could be involved in their own pay row as one member could pocket more cash than the other four.
Yep - apparently Victoria's set to earn more than bandmates Emma Bunton, Melanie C, Melanie B and Geri. Awks.
TMZ reckons the five girls won't be paid equally for the reunion, claiming: "Our sources say the girls won't get paid equally, and it's pretty clear Victoria can demand more than the others."
It's been widely reported Victoria required the most persuasion to partake, explaining her reasoning earlier this week. She said: "The Time's Up and #MeToo movements have shone a light on how powerful we can be when we work together to bring about change.
"That is incredibly inspiring. My career has always focused on empowering and celebrating women, so the momentum that these movements brought only makes me even more determined and passionate in my beliefs."
Meanwhile it's being reported Victoria and Geri are 'battling for control' of the band as they're said to begin negotiations for a reunion tour.
A source-type person told the Mirror: "Geri would like to be a dominant voice, but because Victoria was so reluctant to reunite, the power balance is shifted in her favour.
"All five want this to run smoothly, but there is mounting tension because the ball is in Victoria’s court.
"Victoria being in the driving seat is already causing a strain between some of the girls.
"The road ahead could get very bumpy."
Oh it wouldn't be a Spice Girls reunion without some supposed drama, would it?
