Whether or not she wants any more children with husband Joe Swash seems to change every time she’s asked – and now Stacey Solomon has been thrown by a psychic predicting that a sixth little one is definitely on the cards! Because, although Pickle Cottage is already chaotic enough, Stacey has previously admitted that her ‘favourite thing in the world is being a mum’.
An insider tells heat, ‘Stacey has told friends that a psychic has predicted that baby number six is on the cards for her and Joe. She’s joked that it’s enough of a reason to sleep in separate bedrooms. Although she doesn’t think her body could handle another one and it would be crazy, it would be amazing at the same time. And she’s said she does like round numbers!’
Since their love story began in 2016, Stacey, 35, and Joe, 42, have welcomed son Rex, five, and daughters Rose, three, and Belle, one – joining Stacey’s two eldest sons Zachary, 16, and Leighton, 12, and Joe’s 17-year-old son Harry, at their £1.3million Essex mansion Pickle Cottage. And in the two years since giving birth to her youngest, Stacey has fluctuated between a desire to have another baby and feeling like enough is enough. In a 2024 episode of her National Television Award-winning show Sort Your Life Out, after the idea of having more children was raised, Stacey joked, ‘I can’t even handle what I have now.’
Stacey has also previously spoken about the toll that motherhood has taken on her body. Opening up about finding grey hairs in her early 30s, the former Loose Women star said, ‘That’s three kids, that’s what that is… I think that I'm getting older quicker. My body can't take it anymore. I'm going to age quicker because of all the children.’ At the same time, Stacey needs little encouragement when it comes to having babies and she’s willing to take the psychic’s claims of a sixth child at face value.
While five children – plus dogs Teddy and Peanut, as well as ducks Daisy and Delilah – would be more than enough for most people, last year the X Factor finalist and her husband of two years decided to film their very own reality show Stacey & Joe, which is set to air this spring. ‘Life at Pickle Cottage is crazy enough as it is. Behind the scenes is going to be a non-stop roller coaster with tantrums – and not just from the kids,’ our source reveals. ‘But Stacey believes the show will bring them even closer as a family. It’s a great opportunity to spend more time together while earning money for their future.’
But as excited as Stacey is to give fans a glimpse into her and Joe’s hectic family life, she’s also worried about putting everything out there for people to comment on. As heat has previously reported, Stacey is not immune to criticism over certain decisions that she makes – with fans at times accusing her of being out of touch when she goes on expensive holidays.
Our insider adds, ‘Stacey is nervous about having cameras in her home. Because it’s unedited and real, she does worry how she’ll come across. Stacey & Joe is ultimately about showing people how normal and down-to-earth they are and how they cope in their day-to-day lives, while throwing in some amazing ideas and hacks along the way.
‘Nothing is predictable and working with kids and animals can be a recipe for disaster, but with Joe by her side, Stacey is confident it’ll be a hit. Plus, Joe reckons they’ll give The Kardashians’ ratings a run for their money. They’re organic and relatable, and things going wrong is half the fun.’
