Stacey Solomon is planning on making her sister a showbiz success, so they can work together in the industry.
Just last week, Stacey’s big sis Jemma, 35, made her debut on This Morning as she presented a segment showing viewers how to make the perfect Easter table. As thousands watched, an emotional Stacey, 34, gushed on social media about “how proud” she was.
In December, the duo did their first joint TV venture, appearing on a Christmas jewellery advert for Abbott Lyon together. And with both gigs proving a massive success, Stacey is now keen to bring her sister on board for some more sibling projects.
“Stacey has been approached for so many podcasts and reality shows in the past couple of years, but has had to turn most of them down because of family commitments and projects not quite being right,” says a source.
“She refuses to be away from her kids if it’s not something she’s fully invested in and she doesn’t want to be overexposed. However, working with her sister is something that Stacey is keen on – especially as Jemma is getting more and more comfortable in the limelight.”
Since her sister rose to fame on The X Factor in 2009, Jemma has also launched her own career as an entrepreneur and influencer. The Essex-based star is the founder of The Label Lady, creating fun bespoke labels that often make an appearance in Stacey’s Pickle Cottage home. Now, our source reveals that Jemma’s keen to follow in her sister’s footsteps and land some more TV roles.
We’re told, “Jemma’s doing more and more stories and tutorials on Instagram as The Label Lady, and she also recently spoken about wanting to do a podcast. Stacey would love them to team up together – they could have their own pod where they give out tips and advice to followers.
“They have such a huge following and fans would go wild. Plus, Stacey can branch out even more – not only as a mum, but as a sister and a real girl’s girl.”
But while Stacey’s cheering her big sis on, our source says she’s got her own part to play.
“Stacey’s not daft – she knows that if she’s involved in a project, it will get more publicity,” we’re told.
“There are so many opportunities for them to do stuff together, and she wants her sister to enjoy her fame as much as she does. Stacey sees how hard Jemma works as a businesswoman and a mum, and she wants her to take every opportunity that comes her way.
“They really like Sam and Billie Faiers’ podcast and can see themselves doing something like that, which hopefully could lead to a TV show where they can pool their talents.”
