Following accusations of turning up drunk to work last week, former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis has spoken out.
It emerged on Thursday that the 22-year-old had been fired with immediate effect and shortly afterwards, Stephanie’s agent released a statement saying: “Stephanie’s contract was terminated following warnings for lateness, attendance and after a final incident in which she turned up to set unfit to work because of alcohol consumption.”

Stephanie Davis breaks silence after being sacked from Hollyoaks
Now Stephanie – who had played Sinead O’Connor in the Channel 4 soap since 2010 – has broken her silence and thanked her fans for their support following her dismissal.
“I would like to thank all of the fans for your continued support and not believing everything you read,” she told her fans on Twitter.
“I'm excited to embark on a new adventure and already excited with things to come! U guys have been amazing and I love you all!!! Thank you ! Stephanie xxx.”
It was alleged that there were at least 20 incidents in the run up to Stephanie being sacked but she seemingly shot down the claims and added: “I have no problems don't believe everything you read. I'm staying quiet and rising above it.”
It’s not known whether the soap’s bosses will re-cast the role of Sinead of whether she will be written out.
