'Everyone needs to chill'

With the arrival of The X Factor, the fact we're having to leave the house wrapped up in 2515315 layers and news of an actual WINE advent calendar, we can now confirm we're in the throes of bleak mid-winter (even though it’s not officially autumn until 21 September - FACTOID).

Summer seems like a distant memory and you’d probably think we'd have stopped caring about what the Love Island lot are up to. Oh, how wrong you are…

We can't get enough of the ex-Islanders and regularly find ourselves several weeks deep in a #spon post black hole after stalking them on Instagram. We also LOVE catching up on their relationship statuses – particularly when the relationship in question involves a reality TV crossover.

You may have noticed that Jonny Mitchell has been spending an awful lot of time with Made in Chelsea's Stephanie Pratt of late, and recently whisked her off on a romantic trip to Bali.

Well, after confirming they'd been dating for a whole month (about seven years in reality TV speak) with a post on Insta, Steph received some harsh words from her followers.

She wrote: "1 month with this #feminist #london #Croatia #bali#hatersgonnahate@jonny_mitchell1991", seemingly referring to Jonny's fall from grace in the Love Island villa after his heated feminism debate with Camilla Thurlow.

This didn't sit too well with some fans.

"This post seems to be totally looking for conflict with the "feminist" dig. If you're so happy why would you even think to do that?" one comment read.

Another said: "Steph, I'm beyond disappointed."

Steph then took to Twitter to defend her relationship and stand up for Jonny.

"Wow everyone needs to chill - it's an edited show... think I would actually be with someone who's not an absolute gentleman to me."

Jonny also took to Instagram to hit back at those criticising the relationship.

Sharing a picture from their anniversary meal he wrote: " I really can't wait to prove everyone wrong.. This girl is one of the kindest, sweetest, most genuine people I've ever met and it sucks that she's having to take shit off some people because of dating me, down to some disillusioned idiots that think they know me because of watching 10 minutes a day of me on a highly edited TV show for 5 weeks.

"It's all never really bothered me, and I found it all pretty funny in general because I've always thought that anyone dumb enough to believe everything they see on reality tv, doesn't have an opinion worth worrying about, but when it starts to affect other people I care about then it's obvious that it's gone too far.

"So, my point being.. If you're really the kind of person who has to hate on a stranger, then it's your own life you should be worrying about. not mine.

Rant over. Ciao."

We guess they’re truly, madly, deeply in love. Cute.
