Remember when, on I'm A Celeb, Scarlett Moffatt said she'd once tried to track down Professor Stephen Hawking's email to tell him her theory on time travel? And Ant and Dec did that little skit that had viewers tweeting about it being tasteless? Well Stephen Hawking just waded in, aka shit just got real.
The skit in question came after a clip of Scarlett explaining her theory. Ant and Dec jokingly claimed to have Stephen Hawking's mobile number before launching into a sketch where a robotic voice they pretended was Stephen said: "Sorry lads it's a load of old tosh".
It wasn't meant to be poking fun at Stephen, rather, a bit of a cheeky dig at Scarlett's theory, but Twitter essentially exploded. As it usually does when anyone does literally anything.
"Proper think that Stephen Hawking gaff was a bit wrong!" said one. Another added: "Sorry what have I just watched? Ant and Dec making a joke about Stephen Hawking's voice? Distasteful."
But you can all relax, because Prof. Stephen Hawking himself emailed Ant and Dec to say he would be very interested in hearing about Scarlett's theory, and that he saw the sketch and "enjoyed" it:
"We got an email from Stephen Hawking after that," Dec told The Mirror. "He said he enjoyed her thoughts on the pyramids and enjoyed the sketch that we did in the studio. So that was a highlight."
In case you're interested, Scarlett's theory involves the pyramids. Speaking to fellow jungle-mates, she said: "In order to travel back in time we have to go faster than the speed of light.
"The speed of light is like 319 and then loads of numbers, it’s exactly the same latitude point as the tip of the great Pyramid.
"So I think the pyramids are from the future, I think someone from the future realised we would need them and went back in time and built them."
Well, Professor Hawking is interested, so now she's out the jungle - maybe she can become a time travel expert?
