WAAAH. These be dark times: last night we had to watch while Strictly’s most fun and facially expressive contestant, Alison Hammond, got voted off.

But all is not lost – the This Morning reporter has revealed that she’s going to take up ballroom lessons to continue dancing. We hope that somehow these classes will be televised so our happy weekends spent watching the Hammond grooving won’t be cruelly ripped away.

Alison told The Mirror that she knew she was out of the competition when she was pitted against Caroline Flack in the dance-off. She admitted that she’s “disappointed” not to be performing in the iconic Blackpool ballroom next week but added: “I’m definitely going to continue the dancing. I’ve got a dance school which is just down the road, they do ballroom and Latin. I’ve already joined up. I’m going to go every week, I’ve got the bug for it.”

She also hit back at those who constantly raise questions about her weight.

She said: "I haven’t weighed myself to be honest, everyone is quite obsessed with the weight situation. I really don't understand why, to be honest. I think I’m good enough the way I am.

"I think someone like myself getting up and doing something like that, is inspiration in itself."

And what’s even more inspiring is that she’s not prostrate on the floor crying, like any normal person who’s been forced to shimmy THAT much would be.

We’re all admiration, Alison.
